Timer Chrome Extensions for Google Meet calls
One of the most requested Google Meet features is a countdown timer. Unfortunately, we don’t know when such a feature will be available. Currently, the best way to add a timer to Google Meet is to use Chrome Extensions.
There are plenty of Chrome Extensions which can extend Google Meet calls with a timer or stopwatch. The biggest flaw of these is that in most cases, the timer counts up (instead of down) and you have to manually set up the duration of the meeting. And this is very inconvenient.
There’s in fact only one Chrome Extension which does it automatically and countdown the time. It’s called Meeting Timer - for Google Chrome and the main idea is that it connects to your Google Calendar account and then automatically shows a timer for every call that matches the calendar event.
#1 Meeting Timer - for Google Meet
As I mentioned before, this is the only Chrome Extension that counts the time down automatically. You just need to connect your Google account from where your Google Calendar events come. Then, every time you open a Google Meet link, or join a call which has a corresponding event in the calendar, the Google Meet Timer will pop up automatically.
Meeting Timer - Different states of the timer
You can drag & drop it to change the position or just hide it manually. You can also share it in the other tabs so all Google Meet participants can be on track with the remaining time. It also shows visually the time that has left. There’s a progress bar, information about the halftime and the warning before the meeting is about to end. So it increases your productivity a lot. You can find more features on the video that is available on the Meeting Timer's Web Store page.

#2 Call Timer for Meet
Call Timer for Meet is a perfect example of simplicity in the timer extension. It basically shows a small timer when you join the meeting and starts counting up. The timer resets every time the page is refreshed which is kind of inconvenient. There’s an option to set up the meeting time by hovering over the timer. Then after the set-up time is reached, the timer becomes red.

#3 Timer for Google Meet
Timer for Google Meet is yet another Chrome Extension which adds a timer to the Google Meet call. It’s even more simple then Call Timer for Meet. It displays the current time (clock) and starts counting time up when you join the meeting. And just like the previous plugin, it doesn’t remember the time of the meeting, so the counter resets on every page refresh. There’s also no option to change the position of the timer, so it’s always fixed to the top left corner of the Google Meet call. So if you need a very simple and visually nice timer, that could be a choice for you.
